Work Experience

Woorayl Lodge offers work experience opportunities for Year 10 secondary school students who are interested in starting a career in aged care.

We provide our local secondary schools with 5 days of placement for up to ten students. To participate, students must be at least 15 years old.

Our goal is to give students a valuable understanding of the aged care industry by pairing them with staff members and allowing them to try out various roles such as personal care, nursing, administration, catering, and cleaning.

During their time at Woorayl Lodge, students will mainly observe and learn rather than perform tasks that require training. Our aim is to create a learning experience that showcases the daily activities and responsibilities of each position in a supportive environment.

If required, due to overwhelming numbers, we will reach out to the school's career advisor for guidance in selecting the most suitable student for the work experience opportunity.
